What's your earliest or favourite memory of the St. John's Regatta? Do you compete, watch the races, play the games, eat the food, or take in every aspect?

In 1955 we lived on Forest Road. Dad took me and my two brothers down. It was very crowded on the little bridge at the lake head and i lost his hand for a minute. He bought us all the little monkeys on a cane that were sold there for years but are no longer sold there. There were also cupie dolls on a cane. It was so exciting for a five year old. I loved that monkey on a cane.
