Dale Jarvis is well known to many of you as the man who walks the streets at night leading the Haunted Hike. Dale is also an avid storyteller and the author of several books of tall tales and ghost stories. Dale Jarvis has worked for years in various roles at the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador. Now he has a new gig there...one he says is a dream job. Dale Jarvis is the first Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Development Officer for the province. And maybe the only one in Canada. Listen to this audio feature.

Wow! What a start to a valuable and important aspect to Newfoundland and Labrador's heritage and history - the intangible culture. A blog-spot, radio interview and next, you're ready to initiate your first committee/advisory group for gathering and storing NL's intangibilities.
The closest I've come to a "doodle daddle" is a short stick used in the kitchen. I asked the maker what it was, to which he replied, "A Do-fer." And the use? It'll help push up a window, pull a hot pot from the oven, move something on the stove, open a plastic tub of salt beef. In other words, it'll "do for" anything handy; hence a "do-fer."
